Last Day
today is the last day of the workshop.
its been wonderful and have met some
very creative folks.
we went to a concert last night at the
municipal hall and heard selections by
mozart and strauss, it wasn\t a full
orchestra but the sound was great.
its been great being in prague. there
is art nouveau influences everywhere.
it like you are back in the elegance of
the turn of the century. i feel so
underdressed!
we are seeing a lot of the city on foot.
holly has done some shopping and i
have tried to do my share to keep the
city from becoming awash in beer!

Prague sunsets and sausage
This has been a great trip, terrific to see a number of different places large and otherwise, a taste if many histories and lifestyles and light. And food, of course. It's good though to be in one place for more than a couple of nights. For one thing, we had a bagful of laundry done by the hotel, got back from our first class to a pile of fragrant folded clothing in our room, yay! It's also great to spend time getting to know this place better. We wander the streets, taking photos, sketching doors, no hurry. We have, however, been eating a lot of sausage, so tonight might be time for a proper meal. The evenings are long and warm, perfect for strolling, and we've found a few neighbourhoods not overrun by tourists (though there's the occasional tide as a wash of people on a walking tour floods down the sidewalk, easy to get swept away!)

workshop.2
the workshop is going well. numerous drawing
and writing techniques to encourage freer
expression. great people, all wih creative
backgrounds. film, advertising, teaching...
you name it!
still enjoying prague. the sights, food and
of course, the beer. visited a real czech pub
yesterday where there was no english menu!
we had to point, grunt and hope. it turned out
well. one unknown item, tasty... one known item,
grilled sausage. all fine!
today some shopping and a trip to wenceslas
square. this was disappointing. i expected a
park like, sedate setting. instead a long, wide
mall of fast food outlets, trash and trinket
shops anchored by the national museum.
most disappointing.
we have tickets for a classical concert on monday.
bought the cheap seats. but never having been
to the concert hall before how are we going to
know the difference. it will be good!
